Robert Seña and Isay Alvarez , both recognized for their stellar performance in Miss Saigon (original West End cast and Manila) are Narciso and Isadora Dong-Can, a troubled married couple. May Bayot de Castro (Tanghalang Pilipino's Himala The Musical) is Amor de Sangre, the reigning Miss Artificial Beauty. | | thursday. i woke up in a cold morning wanting to snuggle still bcz of the rainy weather. after a split second i jumped out of bed and realized that typhoon mina is in the country and my sister's wedding is tomorrow. perfect. panic is a word so beautiful and sweet. i was it. thinking of the most sensible thing to do, i decided to drag my sister to plead to the higher ups. off to st. claire's monastery in katipunan we went. two trays of fresh eggs and a heartfelt prayer to sta. clara.
friday. the big day. not a droplet of rain. everyone in the family just breezed through the preparation. im excied.
the weather. the sun smiled on intramuros. the mass is about to start. no wedding coordinator in sight. stress. this is what i should gulp down so everything would run smooth. sweat started to drip on my face as the wedding started. everything must run smooth. i can make this work. thank goodness theres ate gene, one of my sister's long time friend who does weddings aside from her ID career. and as the wedding bells rang, there came riza, apologetic for her late arrival. of course i couldnt smack my friend's face at the moment so on with her job as the coordinator. but she later on ditched the reception and left everything on my shoulders. i ate crisis that evening to make everything seamless. not so much of a pro in managing events huh. i should give myself a tap on the shoulder.
the location. it was in historic intramuros. nostalgic. it is a home close to our hearts as my sister and i have spent years of education in a university inside the walled city. san agustin church for the wedding vows and patio victoria for the reception made this event an event.
the food. i barely had anything other than walks and talks to the staff and crew to make the occassion fluid. i have 'snobbed' the sumptuous buffet by hizon's but i did not miss a stop for the dessert buffet. it was an unavoidable sin for my sweet tooth. delectable.
the people. packed with all our loved ones, close friends, relatives, and family, it was an big event that redefined intimacy.
overall, this wedding is a milestone not only ate ella and kuya warren's life but also a perfect crashcourse for my wedding coordinating career. ahaha. nah.
after all the threat of typhoon mina... the people, the location, the food, the event... my sister's wedding: glorious.

| | the sinking white island. deserted as it may seem but this paradise is a haven of unseen entities. i lost several material things. i feel like the island took stuff from me. sad but it made me realize that there are really a lot of things way more precious than that n95, havaianas, canon ixus and the silver necklace my brother got me from baguio... my friends, our safety and our health. these two bitches are irreplaceable, one of a kind. we had a blast in our island getaway and we got home safe. and alive. i look forward to more adventures.

our first and third night spent in this new hotel in cagayan de oro. this is where we did 'photo shoots' to satisfy our clicker fancy. room 406 cradled us on our last day in mindanao as we take refuge in its urbanized facilities while i fight the flu that i caught. i arrived in manila sick and recovered a week after. welcome home peewee.

| | the birthday dinner. although i was feeling a tad under the weather that saturday night, it didnt stop me to pig out in one of the famous restos in limketkai, cdo. it was a total gastronomic adventure as i devour most of the one-inch thick slab of ostrich steak. yep. you read it correctly. this poultry is part of the food chain or so they say. actually it didnt feel like poultry at all when it was in my mouth and it didnt even taste like chicken. it seemed that i was chewing on a piece of beef. i couldnt complain. the restos service, ambience and of course cooking is good.
